The Zone could have two contests, one for poetry, one for a 30 page or under story. Both winners would win a year-long premium. Judges would be sort of random--one admin, one random CL, two randomly selected users who have applied and who log in visibly at least once every two weeks. Thoughts?

I've said before I like this idea, but I think there should be more than just writing contests. We should have, like, a Zone Olympics. Writing would just be one of the many contests.

There already was a Zone singing contest, Michelle. It was called Icon. I wasn't involved, but it sounds like things got....kind of messy during that.
Hmmm. I've judged writing contests before, and it's rather difficult to do. I'd have to admit, I think poetry stinks on ice, so I doubt I'd be a good judge of that. I'm certainly up for judging, or participating in, a writing contest. Although I can't win. LOL. The hardest part is how to objectively evaluate each story. We could do some sort of points system for each peace, but what one person may find great, may be considered a complete fuster cluck to another...
Yeah, I heard about the singing contest, and I don't know if that's a particularly good idea. But what about most creative username, funniest audio tags, best-written profiles, things like that. Youcould win awards that would, say, give you credits for a Premium membership or more features.
lol, that sounds really fun, lol. And yeah, the zone Icon thing turned out messily from what I heard and i don't think people want a repeat performance, :D. But the rest sounds fun though.

It's all well and good, but remember one very important thing:
We need sponsors if we are gonna award prizes.
And as for Icon, it wasn't that bad, I mean, this is the Zone, and drama and shit is kinda a guaranteed fact, ey?
I have no idea what happened during icon and I'm wondering if someone could fill the newbies in.
Anyway, I lvoe the idea of contests. I'm not the best writer, but I can certainly do music and things... sounds like fun.
My writing sucks but I'd be willing to maybe submit something. I can sing way better thenI can write. Trust me! lol!
